
Esther Röling has been passionate about food ever since her childhood. At the age of 21, she opened her own cafe in Amsterdam in the up and coming Jordaan area. After working in fashion and finance, her passion for food was calling again. Only this time, she wanted to refine her culinary skills to a master chef level.
Keen to discover new flavours and techniques, she traveled to Thailand to take courses at The Oriental Hotel and The Blue Elephant in Bangkok and took on apprenticeships at renowned London restaurant 'LesTrois Garcons' and Restaurant Halvemaan in Amsterdam. In 2008 she graduated with a Grand Diplome from Le Cordon Blue in Marylebone, London. After graduation she trained as a chocolatier at Paul A. Young, one of the UK's foremost chocolatiers.
Following a spell at London's two Michelin star restaurant Pied a Terre, Esther set up her own catering company, Sugar & Salt, catering to private clients, embassy ambassadors and corporate events.
Esther's culinary creations are a delight for the senses using rich colours and the finest ingredients to take you on a gastronomic journey of discovery.
